Thanks to a Lottery grant the barn was converted into a camping barn in 2007. It includes a large communal kitchen and dining area downstairs with wood burner, modern toilets and showers and separate male and female dormitory accommodation upstairs. There is also a large courtyard outside with BBQ area and pizza oven. The barn is heated by a new Wood Pellet boiler.

Cockington is a traditional 450 acre country estate, complete with manor house, church, formal gardens, village, water-wheel, woodlands, orchards, meadows and pasture. It is famous for its well kept thatched cottages and pleasant environment right on the edge of Torquay and only minutes from the sea-front. It's a landscape full of surprises and views over Torbay, with wildlife and history to match.
